ABOUT

Robert Fisher is an experienced pianist, accompanist, and music educator. His primary musical studies include an emphasis in Piano, Voice, and Brass (French Horn). Spending his childhood overseas as a "military brat" in South Korea and England, Robert studied under numerous international piano instructors abroad. He expanded his musical studies to include Voice and French Horn during his secondary school years, joining local school band, choir, and orchestra ensembles.

Upon returning to the United States to pursue a degree in Music Education, Robert continued his music studies trifecta by joining several college music ensembles, including: Chamber Orchestra (Horn), Wind Ensemble (Horn), Jazz Band (Piano), Choir, and Chamber Singers. As a member of the Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Singers, Robert performed on tour regionally (Midwest). He spent nearly a month traveling and performing in towns throughout Tuscany and central Italy as part of a "Music In Italy" tour. Upon returning and completing his Music Education degree (certified in both Instrumental and Choral education), Robert moved to Northern Virginia to begin his teaching career.

Robert has provided private music lessons for over 25 years to students of all ages. He has served as a state/ACSI-certified school classroom music educator for over ten years. Robert has served as a Middle and High School Choir and Concert Band Director and as an Elementary General Music teacher.

During his tenure as a classroom music educator, Robert launched and expanded successful music programs in Loudoun County as the Music Department Chair at several area private schools. He was part of a team of teachers and parents who joined forces to charter and launch a now fully-accredited, non-profit K-8 startup private school in Loudoun County. He established and expanded its music offerings to include band and choir programs.

After a decade in the music classroom, Robert returned to where his love of music was first sparked and nurtured: in private music lessons! Robert Song Music began as an idea in the fall of 2018 to serve as a platform where Robert could combine his career and life experiences into a new venture. During this season of change, Robert served as a Full-time Lessons Instructor (Piano, Voice, French Horn) and Marketing Admin. at a large local music lessons school for nearly four years. He worked with an average of 40+ weekly lessons students while serving as a website, social media, and marketing administrator. Following his departure, and after the urging of many former students and families from church, his time in music classrooms, and beyond, Robert decided to formally launch Robert Song Music LLC as his new full-time endeavor!

Robert knows what it takes to turn a passion for music into thriving success stories for his students, inspiring them to find their voice and sound in music. Whether through performing in auditoriums bustling with families and friends or in the comfort of private one-on-one lessons, Robert believes that everyone can find their niche and spark in music. He believes there is something for everyone in music, whether you play, sing or listen. He believes everyone can and should experience the God-given expressive power of music, make it their own and share it with others!
